“Each movie, each picture has its own music. The composer must listen and write it.”
Self-taught he has said that the basic question for an artist, is not the way he learned something, but if he learned it well. He has written music for more than 40 films and we have met him with his collaboration with Krzysztof Kieslowski.
Zbigniew Preisner's film scores have record sales: The Double Life of Veronique over 300,000 CDs, the trilogy The three colors have exceeded 700,000 albums.
Among the awards for his compositions, he has received the Silver Bear from Berlin Film Festival, two Césars from the French Film Academy, three consecutive citations as the year’s most outstanding composer of film music in the Los Angeles Critics Festival.
